VISION: "Center Grove High School strives to be a safe and challenging institution that values the use of innovative and diverse teaching strategies, the immersion of technology, and strong community involvement."

MISSION: "It is the mission of Center Grove High School to provide meaningful learning experiences that will prepare students for post-secondary opportunities and empower them to thrive in the 21st century."

Principal Tracy McMahen

Mrs. Tracy McMahen was named principal of Center Grove High School in July of 2024. She served as an assistant principal at CGHS eight years. She has also served as a dean at CGHS. Prior to becoming an administrator, McMahen taught for 15 years at Center Grove Middle School Central and was named a building Teacher of the Year in 2012. In 2024, McMahen was named the Region 9 Assistant Principal of the Year. McMahen holds a bachelor's degree in English Education from Franklin College and a master's degree in Administrative Leadership from Ball State University.

Center Grove Global Campus

GLOBAL CAMPUS

Center Grove High School's Global Campus provides online courses for students enrolled in person at Center Grove High School. The courses are all taught by Center Grove High School teachers, and students earn credit(s) toward their Center Grove High School diploma. The Purpose of Center Grove Global Campus is to create an engaging and supportive learning community designed to meet the diverse academic goals for all students in flexible learning environments. To accomplish this purpose we are encouraging, reflective, compassionate, growth-minded and student focused. We believe that Center Grove Global Campus is one path to the district vision of "exceptional educational experience" for all.

Center Grove Virtual Campus

CENTER GROVE VIRTUAL CAMPUS

Center Grove is committed to offering innovative and flexible learning opportunities that meet the diverse needs of our students and families. Center Grove Virtual Campus (CGVC) is a fully online high school program designed with the same excellence and care that you have come to expect from Center Grove. The program is taught by Center Grove educators using courses created by Center Grove teachers that align with the same high standards and expectations as our in-person programs. CGVC will welcome its first cohort of students in Fall 2025.

Early College

EARLY COLLEGE

Center Grove Early College (EC) is a small learning community at Center Grove High School that allows students to earn a 30 credit transfer certificate or a 60 credit associate's degree while still in high school. EC admits between 100-120 students per year. Students will have all of their core classes with the EC faculty and with other EC students. The small learning community increases collaboration between faculty and leads to increased accountability and attention to students. College Credits - Center Grove partners with Vincennes University to offer college classes in the high school. College classes are taught by a qualified and approved high school teacher, a locally hired adjunct, or a high school teacher working with a Vincennes professor online. These classes are highly transferable to public and private colleges, in and out of state.

Simon Youth Center Grove Academy

SIMON YOUTH CENTER GROVE ACADEMY

Simon Youth Center Grove Academy is committed to establishing a challenging learning environment that encourages student success via blended learning. Additionally, Simon Youth Center Grove Academy equips students with the knowledge and skills for success after high school. SYF Simon Youth Center Grove Academy Simon Center Grove Academy (SYCGA) is a student-centered educational program that supports and embraces needs of students by providing an alternative method of delivering instruction and monitoring academic success. Rigorous curricula, intervention programs, and extended learning opportunities are characteristics of SYCGA. Collaboration with partnering agencies and community resources is integral to providing valuable resources to our students.

Center Grove High School offers more than 50 clubs, 23 athletic teams, and a robust fine and performing arts program.

Athletics

CGHS is a community of students with diverse interests, talents, abilities and perspectives and a common desire to be involved. We welcome and encourage students to participate in activities that feed your passions and connect you with other students and adults who share interests. This is a wonderful opportunity to develop friendships, enhance talents, practice sportsmanship and teamwork, build character and acquire important leadership and communication skills that will help throughout life.

Fine Arts

Center Grove High School art programs offer fine arts learning opportunities in both two and three dimensions. Our students regularly exhibit their art in school, county, statewide, and national exhibitions and competitions, including the Scholastic Arts Competition. Center Grove art students go on to enroll in universities, art schools, and architecture schools across the United States and participate in learning experiences around the world. CGHS art program includes a variety of course offerings including Drawing, Ceramics, Photography, Fiber Arts, Visual Communications, Studio Art, and Painting.

Performing Arts

BAND
With course offerings in Intermediate and Advanced Band, Dance Performance, Jazz Ensemble, Piano and Electronic Keyboard, there are several opportunities to explore creativity through performance in the Band Department. CGHS offers exceptional competitive and non-competitive performance ensembles.

CHOIR
With Advanced Chorus course offerings, Intermediate Chorus course offerings, and Beginning Chorus course offerings, there are several opportunities to explore creativity through CG Sound System (Advanced Co-ed), Debtones (Advanced Women's), CG Singers (Advanced Chamber Co-ed), Surround Sound (Intermediate Co-ed), The Counterparts (Intermediate Co-ed), The Accents (Intermediate Women's), Beginning Chorus (Men's),and Beginning Chorus (Women's).

ORCHESTRA
With course offerings in Intermediate and Advanced Orchestra, there are opportunities to explore creativity through performance in the Orchestra Department. CGHS offers both Symphonic Orchestra (Advanced) and Philharmonic Orchestra (Intermediate).
