ADVANCED PLACEMENT AND HONORS COURSES

Center Grove High School works in partnership with the College Board’s Advanced Placement Program® (AP®) to offer several courses that enable motivated students to pursue college-level studies. Dedicated teachers follow a specific AP curriculum to prepare students to take rigorous AP examinations.  University professors and secondary teachers design both the curriculum and the examinations to provide students with work and assessments equivalent to college work.

AP Scores trend data for the past five years from the College Board. The number of AP Scholars, as defined by the College Board, has grown over the past years.

Please read The AP Effect to learn more about the ripple-effect likely to result from participation in our AP program.

For more information on Advanced Placement visit our Guidance AP Webpage.

Indiana law requires all two and four-year Indiana public colleges and universities to award college credit that counts toward a degree for scores of 3 or higher. The Independent Colleges of Indiana have also chosen to provide information on how their scores on various AP exams will transfer.  For more information visit TransferIn.NET.

Advance College Project®

ACP offers transcripted college credit to high school seniors who enroll in IU courses offered at the high school.  It is an accredited program by the National Alliance of Concurrent Enrollment Partnerships (NACEP).  ACP courses are taught by IU approved, well-qualified, ACP-trained high school teachers who are IU adjunct faculty.   IU personnel make site visits, conduct seminars, and provide on-going support to teachers.  See the ACP website:  www.acp.in.edu and/or Center Grove Guidance Counselors for more information.
