IGNITE

WHAT IS IGNITE?
Ignite courses allow students to expand their learning opportunities to earn initial credit in grades 9-12. Students can take a course during the summer to make room in their schedule for additional electives or other coursework.   Students can also take an Ignite course during the school year through Global Campus to provide more flexibility in their schedule via a seat-time waiver. The seat-time waiver is an opportunity available to Center Grove High School students enrolled in Global Campus courses during the school year. The seat-time waiver allows students to study off-site (home, coffee shop) rather than sit in a traditional classroom setting during their scheduled online course. The waiver provides students with increased flexibility in how, when, and where they study. Students should be self-motivated and disciplined in their studies. The seat-time waiver is a privilege, and students are expected to demonstrate academic accountability and responsibility in their coursework to meet eligibility requirements and maintain the waiver.

To be eligible for the seat-time waiver, students must meet the following criteria:

  • 2.75 GPA
  • Schedule their online course for Period 1, 5, 6, or 10 (first and last period of the day).
  • Have a parent/guardian consent form signed, approved, and on file with Global Campus.
  • Demonstrate academic accountability by maintaining a B- (80%) or higher in Global Campus coursework and C- (70%) in all other subjects
